HORUS’s ventilation systems directs cooling, drying air into the helmet, and use areas of low air pressure to the rear of the helmet to draw warm, damp air through the exhaust outlets and into the outside environment.

A 3D mesh is placed in the helmet ventilation areas to increase airflow ventilation.

HORUS visors protect the pilot against wind, dirt, insects and 99% of the sun’s damaging UV rays. HORUS Flight helmet has a single visor system manufactured using a 2.0mm Lexan Polycarbonate with anti-scratch / antifog coating. A locking visor system plus a quick release down position locking safety system is provided. The Visors are available in standard 70% dark finishing, Clear, high contrast, iridium colors. No tools needed to remove and replace the visor system or to add the visor cover assy. Visors meet or exceed the MIL-V-43511 standards.

EPS LINER

The EPS liner of the HORUS is designed to absorb the energies of an impact. HORUS’ innovative Dual-Layer, Multi-Density EPS liner systems not only provide enhanced impact absorption by utilizing varying densities of foam in key areas around the pilot’s head, but they are also designed to allow cooling air to travel unrestricted through tunnels created in the EPS, further enhancing our superior ventilation characteristics.

SYSTEM

A Fire retardant treated MTP foam core in different thicknesses with Coolmax padded fabric liner is provided to adjust the HORUS to the different head sizes and to enhance comfort. is in The liner stitching is made of a Kevlar fire retardant thread.

The chinstrap of the Italian-made HORUS helmet is made from Kevlar fire-resistant materials. This fully adjustable chin strap comes with a micrometric buckle and metal plates.

As with the rest of the Horus helmet, the chin strap is designed to be comfortable, no matter how long it is worn.

The fire-retardant Kevlar webbing type chin retention system with side steel plates is matched with a quick-release self-extinguishing micrometric adjustment buckle.

Communications

The Coolmax ear padding contains built-in speakers that deliver excellent noise attenuation, even in extremely high noise environments.

The communication module, a Horus/CF Helmets exclusive, is in the rear of the helmet and integrates a CEP module and independent volume control.

The system is designed to work with a boom mic or with a mic corded inside of an oxygen mask. The Horus will never get in the way of proper communications.

Integration

The anti-snag, lightweight oxygen mask bayonet receivers are designed to avoid issues with the parachute riser snagging during an ejection. They are available in either a metallic (bead blasted) or black.

“This design was vital to our team; if you lose oxygen during an ejection, you can find yourself in an awful situation. Too often, this feature is ignored by designers, but we’ve made sure it was tested and proven in Horus.”

Action Camera

In today’s world of “everything on video,” the activities of flight crews and pilots are no different. That’s why the HORUS has integrated action camera points with removable brackets that allow the user to mount one or several GoPro cameras on the helmet.

These camera mounts make this an ideal choice for instructors or to be able to observe crew activities without needing to be in the space. Instructors can review students from their point of view or command can see what actions a crew took during normal operations or training evolution.

HORUS HELMET ACTIVE SAFETY

The “active safety” defines the further improvements made to the HORUS helmet to ensure that maximum comfort is achieved, allowing the pilot  to devote all of his or her focus to flying. Advanced helmet features such as our anatomically-shaped comfort liner for optimum helmet fitment, lowest possible weight to reduce stress on the neck muscles, and effective ventilation system for temperature regulation and reduction in noises all serve to further improve the safety of the pilot.

The heaviest part of a helmet is the shell, which is of special importance when making a light overall helmet. Since the shell is also the part of the helmet that is the most stressed in the event of an impact, the requirements concerning the manufacturing of a lightweight helmet shell are correspondingly high. Through our extensive experience in the processing of fiber compound materials, Custom Flight helmets  has succeeded in developing the extremely resistant and lightweight shell made of  aviation-grade epoxy resin Carbon/Kevlar prepreg and reinforced with Zylon PBO aramid fabric inserts.

BETWEEN COMFORT AND PROPER FIT

The material and shape of HORUS’s  interior systems are critical factors for the overall wearing comfort and proper fit of the helmet. The fit defines how well the helmet sits on the head and stays in place, which is especially noticeable under G forces and aerobatic maneuvers.

HORUS’s multi-layer, multi-density liner components are utilized to find the perfect balance between comfort and helmet stabilization. Variable thickness headliners and ears soft paddings are available to ensure a customizable fit for each and every pilot. HORUS incorporates a mix of exclusive comfort and performance features into the construction of every helmet. Groundbreaking components like our Coolmax Interior, shaped edge-rolls to match the contours of a pilot’s head, fully removable, washable and replaceable liner systems accentuate the impeccable comfort exclusive only to HORUS helmets.

YOUR FLIGHT SAFETY

HORUS flight  helmet is the first flight helmet in the world integrated with the with the Recco Search & Rescue System.

The RECCO detector emits a directional radar signal, like the beam of a flashlight. When the radar signal hits the RECCO reflector, it is echoed back to the detector and points the rescuer in the direction of the victim. The closer the detector gets to the reflector the stronger the returned-signal, ultimately allowing the rescuer to pinpoint the victim’s location.

HORUS ACTIVE NOISE REDUCTION

Noise imposes unnecessary stress on the pilot  and can disturb his or her concentration. With the HORUS ANR H77 Active Noise Redaction, you can rely on crisp, clear audio and significant noise reduction for all cockpit communications. You can also connect the headset to secondary audio sources such as smartphones or tablets. We take great pride in designing each of our products with the goal of providing the highest performance possible in the price range of that product. We strive to reproduce the musical sounds as closely as possible to those of the original performance. And we strive to avoid flashy sounds such as those associated with accentuated bass and/or treble frequencies. While those sounds may be initially attractive to the novice, they are not real and are not enduring. In addition, we use only the highest-quality parts and the latest assembly and quality control techniques to ensure the reliability and long life of our products. Our reputation rests on our steadfast pursuit of this policy in music and entertainment systems for the home, the automobile, and businesses.  We are committed to investing in research that continually gives rise to new technologies for improving sound reproduction.
